What is this website all about

This website is a personal blogging website run by Earl Peter Gangoso, aliased as Earl Peter JG, based on Philippines. Web domains include earlpeter.com and earlp.ru.

What personal data is collected and why it is collected

By default, this website does not collect any personal data about visitors. However, some of the third-party software may. This section lists down what possible information may be required or gathered.

Comments

The website does not utilize comments and blog posts.

Media

The website does not allow visitors to upload any type of media file.

Contact forms

The contact form in the Home Page requires the following information: your name, mobile phone, email, subject of your message, and your message where mobile phone is optional.

Form submissions are sent directly as an email. Form submissions are also logged into the website database, so in any case of possible email delivery failures, a copy of the form is still present. I do not intend to keep a copy of the email and will delete it as soon as it is not necessary.

I do not use submitted information for other purposes, such as marketing follow-ups unless specified.

Cookies

Cookies are small pieces of data stored in text files, that are stored on your device’s browser when a website is loaded. They are widely used to ‘remember’ you and your preferences, either for a single visit (through a ‘session cookie’) or for multiple repeat visits (using a ‘persistent cookie’). They ensure a consistent and efficient experience for visitors to allow the website to perform essential functions such as allowing users to register and remain logged in. Cookies may be set by the site that you are visiting (also known as ‘first-party cookies’), or by third-party parties, such as those who serve third-party content and services to the website.

The website by default does not utilize cookies for visitors. Other cookies such as login information are only used by site administrators, moderators, editors, or writers.

Cookies set

Account: These are cookies set by WordPress used to identify if a user has registered and logged in, allowing registered users to authenticate and perform account related functions. Our website does not allow public registrations, so these cookies are only necessary for site administrators, moderators, and writers.

Preferences: These are cookies set by WordPress used to store user preferences such as account name, language, and location when logging in.

Other Third-Party Content and Cookies

The website embeds Google Maps for location purposes and LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter for news, events calendar, or social media presence. These websites behave the same way as if you visited the site itself. These websites then may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with their content. You may refer to each of their own privacy policy.

Google Analytics

The website sets tracking cookies by Google Analytics, a trusted third-party analytics network, to track details such as the number of unique visitors, and the number of views to help improve the user experience.

If you do not feel safe with Google Analytics or for whatever reason, you can opt-out of Google Analytics services by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (gtag.js, ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) that is running on any websites using Google Analytics from collecting and sharing information about visit activity.

You may refer to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Google reCAPTCHA

reCAPTCHA is a trusted service from Google that helps protect websites and apps from spam and abuse by blocking automated software and other malicious submissions to any form. However, reCAPTCHA collects personal information from users to determine whether or not they’re human and not a bot.

Information may include the time it took you to fill in the form, all cookies placed by Google over the last 6 months, your mouse movement and clicks or touches if on a touchscreen device, your browser’s language, any plugins you installed on your browser, and all other JavaScript objects.

You may refer to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Whom is your data shared with

Besides third-party services stated above, the website does not share any personal data with another third-party.

How long is your data retained

Any user information gathered as mentioned above is retained not longer than a year, or until it is deemed not needed. Please note that how long your information gathered by third-party services may vary and is stated in their own privacy policy and terms.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data held about you, including any data you have involuntarily provided. You can also request to erase any personal data gathered from you. However, this does not include any data obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
